Faked Footsteps

There are a few news reports around expressing consternation that the firework ‘footsteps’ from the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony were faked.
Expect a) on NBC at least, they said they were fake when they were showing them and b) unless your last experience of CGI effects was Dire Straits’ Money for Nothing video then they were obviously computer generated!
tsk, another one for beijing huh, they just can’t get enough of the lip snyc opening singer.
